Months ago we decided to take time to make a new version of our Android native store. Although the decision may seem hard to take, it was necessary as the first version of the native store had become difficult to maintain.
We took the opportunity to rethink the design of the app. One of our goal was to have something close to what users already use in their daily lives with public app stores. This was important to us since an easy-to-use app store has significant impact on your apps adoption rate.

Building this new Android App Store from the ground up has another purpose: adding new features faster than before. Our previous Android native store’s code had gotten complex and bringing changes and updates to it was not easy. In addition, an architecture choice made a few years back had mixed the code for what can now be two separate projects: The native app store and the Android Enterprise Work Profile setup app. Although logical at the time, this choice was now getting in the way of new improved developments. With a better separation of these two apps we’ve become more flexible and we hope we will be able to offer new features for the native store on the classic mode but also for advanced ones.
We now have a new Android native store almost ready to be available for everyone.
You may notice that some features are missing, we first focused on features that were the most used and features that were most requested. If something is missing but important for you, do not hesitate to let us know!
